Romanian Man Vasile Gorgos Disappears, Returns 30 years Later.
In 1991 Vasile Gorgos, a 63 year old farmer from Romania, left his family to go on a small business trip. His family is devastated when he doesn’t return home and assumes he has died. 30 years later Vasile shows up on their doorstep wearing the same clothes he was wearing when he left. What cold have possibly happened to Vasile Gorgos?
Vasile would often take business trips by train to several different cities around Romania to go and trade cattle. Vasile would usually return after a day or two but when he had been gone for several days with no contact his family became concerned. They contacted police and began searching for him but he was gone without a trace. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months and months turned into years since the family had heard from Vasile. Eventually the family assumed he must have passed away. They mourned his loss and regularly held memorial services for him.
The Day Vasile Gorgos Returned
On 29th of August 2021 a car pulled up in front of the Gorgos family house where the family still lived. A now 93 year old Vasile Gorgos stepped out of the back seat and made his was to the front door. His family greeted him with shock and confusion as well as immense amounts of joy.
When asked about what happened and where he has been for the last 30 years Vasile replied that he was at home. They notice he is wearing the exact same clothes that he went missing in and still had the 30 year old train ticket in his pocket.
Vasile underwent a thorough medical examination which determined that he was in good health for his age apart from his memory issues. He was unable to remember anything that had happened in the last 30 years. To him it had only been a few days since he left his family. His memory of the house, his family and his work from 30 years ago was perfect.
The neighbors of the Gorgos family saw Vasile getting out of the car but were so amazed they didn’t get the number plate. They noted that the driver took off the second that Vasile left the vehicle.
Theories ABout Vasile Gorgos
There are a number of theories about what could have happened to Vasile ranging from the mundane to the paranormal.
He abandoned his family for a new life. When his health deteriorated the new people in his life abandoned him bringing him back to the family he left behind.
He was imprisoned for 30 years. This could explain why he was wearing the same clothes and still had his train ticket. He may have been too ashamed to talk about what happened which is why he wouldn’t explain when asked where he had been.
Vasile suffered a severe dissociative fugue. This caused him to get lost on his train journey and lose memory of his life. He could have then started a new life in a new city and then was eventually returned to his family when dementia set it.
He was abducted by aliens, experimented on for 30 years and then returned with no memory.
