How to Safely Use a Ouija Board

Ouija Board

Have you wanted to try using a ouija board to try talking to the dead but are scared it may lead to a haunting or even contact with demons? Use this guide to help you safely navigate your journey into spirit communication without any negative experiences.

STEP ONE: CHOOSE YOUR Board

Sometimes second hand ouija boards can have spirits or other dark entities attached to them from previous use. If you choose to buy a second hand board you should undertake a cleansing ritual before using it. You can do this with any spiritual practices that are familiar to you.

If you’re not sure what to do try burning some incense and waving the smoke over the board saying out loud “I claim this board as my own and reject any energies associated with it.” To be extra safe you may want to create your own ouija board or buy a brand new one.

STEP TWO: PREPARING THE SPACE

It may help to first cleanse the area of any bad energy by doing a cleansing ritual. This can be as simple as stating your intentions out loud; something like “This is a space for positive energy only. I wish you no harm only to communicate”. Try imagining a white light surrounding you filling up the entire room. This creates a peaceful environment and makes it clear to the spirits that you have good intentions.

You might like to try casting a circle to protect yourself from evil spirits. One way to do this is to draw a circle around yourself in the air and simply envision the space within filled with bright and positive energy.

Make sure you have your ouija board set up and are sitting comfortably. You might like to turn off the lights and light a few candles for ambiance. If there are a number of people present you might like to hold hands or sit in a circle to gather your energy together. Just do whatever is comfortable for you. The most important thing is your intention.

STEP THREE: Beginning the Session

Have everyone in the room place one hand on the planchette. Speak in hushed tones to create a suitable atmosphere for the spirits to reveal themselves. Ask and questions you like one at a time and wait for a response. Keep the questions simple and try to be respectful as if you were speaking to a living person present in the room.

Remember you are in control. You can end the session at any time and the spirits will respect this.

STEP FOUR: CLOSING THE SESSION

This is the most important step. If you do not properly close the session the spirits may take this as an invitation to attach themselves to you.

To close the session thank the spirits out loud for speaking with you and say you are now ending the session. Put the board away making sure not to store the board and the planchette together.

Warnings

If the letters ZOZO appear on the board end the session immediately. Zozo is a negative entity that is often encountered during ouija board use and can lead to negative experiences. Don’t be too afraid however, the entites can’t harm you, only scare you.
