Sighting of the Charles Mill Lake Monster
The Charles Mill Lake reservoir is located approximately 100 miles away from Loveland in Mansfield, Ohio, home of the Loveland Frogman.
Constructed in 1935 by damming the Black Fork of the Mohican River, this reservoir, nestled between Cleveland and Columbus, is renowned for its abundant catfish population. It is also reputed to harbor an extraordinary and elusive amphibious creature, unlike any other cryptid ever documented, which has only been sighted once.
The unsettling incident took place on March 28, 1959, involving three teenage boys named Denny Patterson, Wayne Armstrong, and Michael Lane.
According to their account, while mucking around near Ruggles road on the swampy shores of the Charles Mill Reservoir during the night, they witnessed something like they had never seen before.
A peculiar being about 7 feet tall, emerged from the dark waters before them, instilling terror in the petrified boys. The teens described it as an "armless" humanoid, possessing luminous, green eyes, and large, webbed feet. Understandably shaken, the teenagers ran from the scene and promptly reported what they had seen to the police.
Upon hearing of a strange creature at Charles Mill Reservoir, local authorities ventured to the lake in order to see what all the fuss was about.
To their surprise, they stumbled upon a set of tracks along the shoreline, bearing a striking resemblance to the footgear commonly worn by skin divers.
This finding seemed to corroborate the boys’ story and provide tangible evidence that some entity with sizeable, webbed feet had been lurking near the lake's edge.
There have been no further reports of sightings of the Charles Mill Lake Monster since 1959.

It seems likely that they boys definitely saw something strange that fateful night in 1959 but was it a monster? Why a diver would be out in the reservoir in the middle of the night is anyone’s guess. It also doesn’t explain the glowing green eyes.
