Within the corridors of a high school in Nigeria, one teacher's presence was known not only for her stylish appearance but also for the distinctive sound of her red heels echoing through the hallways. Affectionately dubbed "Madam Koi Koi", she had an aura of beauty but was rumored to have a cruel side. Tales circulated about her mistreatment of students, seemingly inflicting harm without reason.

Eventually, her actions led to her dismissal after injuring a female student. On her way home from being fired, she met with a fatal accident, and her spirit vowed to forever seek vengeance upon the school and its students from beyond the grave.

Following Madam Koi Koi's untimely passing, peculiar occurrences took place within the school. Students reported hearing the distinct "Koi Koi" sound during late hours in the dormitory hallways, resembling the haunting click of high heels on a hard surface. To this day in many high schools throughout Nigeria, students acting out know they need to toe the line when they hear the sound of Madam Koi Koi approaching.

In another version of the story, Madam Koi Koi was a malevolent educator, delighting in the torment of her students. Described as a sadistic figure who relished in inflicting pain, she allegedly utilized her teaching position to indulge in extreme cruelty.

The terrifyed students complained to the school about Madam Koi Koi’s behavior but nothing was done.

Frustrated by the school's failure to address her actions, the students decided to take matters into their own hands.

One fateful evening a group of students ambushed Madam Koi Koi. They bound and gagged her and began to unleash their anger upon her, punching and kicking her and hitting her with their shoes until she passed away. The students panicked and disposed of her body beyond the school's rear fence, staging the scene to appear as a robbery gone wrong.

In an eerie turn of events, the students who participated in Madam Koi Koi's demise began to vanish mysteriously, leaving behind only one witness: the student who struck her with a shoe. Tormented by guilt, he shared the tale of their misdeeds, along with his unsettling encounters with the phantom sound of high heels haunting his hostel every night.

His pleas fell on deaf ears as nobody believed his accounts. Determined to uncover the truth, he went out one evening and followed the source of the sound, hoping to find the spirit of Madam Koi Koi and reason with her. Tragically, he too was found brutally beaten to death, his lifeless body discovered the following morning.

Following these chilling events, the secondary school was ultimately shut down, and the remaining students were transferred to new educational institutions. The legend of Madam Koi Koi continued to spread, carried by those who had encountered her wrath. Whispers of her spectral presence wandering through dormitory halls, tormenting unsuspecting students, and causing individuals to mysteriously vanish persisted especially students who were lurking at school when they weren’t supposed to be there.

Perhaps the spooky tale of Madam Koi Koi was created by frustrated school teachers trying to get students to stay out of the school grounds outside of school hours. Maybe students invented the story as a way of scaring younger students, knowing that the sound of high heeled footsteps was common throughout the hallways of the school
